Pensions department implements new scheme of service
As part of the ongoing reforms at the Pensions Department, the revised scheme of service for Pensions Personnel is now in force with effect from 1st July 2009 having been approved by the Ministry of State for Public Service on 21st December 2009. The new scheme currently under implementation has created six additional cadres for Pensions Assistants while retaining ten cadres for Pensions Officers.

Taking stock of the costs of Devolution
The Constitution provides for Devolution and Public Finance in Chapter 12 and 15 respectively. There are other chapters in the constitution that discuss money but these two chapters have a direct bearing on the tangent resource utilization will take after 2012. One is that the framework for devolution that this country will adopt will greatly impact on the cost of implementing the new constitution. Two, the framework that will be legislated for public finance management under chapter 15 will go a long way in influencing the future utilization of public resources in this country.

The twelve member team Chaired by the PFMR Coordinator, Mr. Khasiani Kubai is tasked with the responsibility of reviewing the current strategy to embrace emerging changes brought about by the new constitution.
